<h2>Rooted in the Family Business</h2>
<p>Shawn Murray’s journey in the produce industry began at a very young age, rooted in his father’s business, Berry Fruitty. His father, who started in the produce industry at 16, worked tirelessly to build his career from the ground up, initially at Top Tomato in Brooklyn, New York.</p>
<p>After gaining experience, Shawn’s father relocated the family to South Florida, where he continued his entrepreneurial journey by establishing Berry Fruitty in Delray Beach. Shawn and his siblings were involved from the beginning, taking on roles such as cashiers and helping with tasks like breaking down boxes and stocking the stands. It was here that Shawn learned the foundational values of hard work, customer service, and the importance of delivering quality products.</p>

<h2>From the Farm Stand to the Distribution Network</h2>
<p>After gaining substantial experience in his father’s business, Shawn ventured into distribution during college, where he began wholesaling produce directly from farms. This marked the beginning of his hands-on experience in the broader distribution network. Over time, Shawn took on various roles in the industry, including a significant stint at a major distributor, where he worked as a manager, purchaser, and repack supervisor. He also worked with Gourmet Fresh Cuts, under the mentorship of a seasoned industry veteran, where he gained a deeper understanding of the industry’s inner workings.</p>
<p>It was during these roles that Shawn recognized the inefficiencies and lack of customer-centric approaches prevalent in many large distribution companies. His frustration with these shortcomings led him to realize that the industry was ripe for innovation, particularly in the areas of hospitality, convenience, and operational efficiency.</p>
<p>Shawn’s experiences culminated in the founding of Prima Produce, a company born out of his desire to address the gaps he had observed throughout his career. With Prima Produce, Shawn aims to revolutionize the produce industry by providing seamless, reliable, and customer-focused solutions. Leveraging his deep industry knowledge and firsthand experience, Shawn has built Prima Produce to set new standards for efficiency and service, truly understanding and meeting the needs of its clients.</p>
