A larger kitchen and dining room solves a different problem from an extra bedroom or a place to work upstairs.</p><p>We can discuss either route against the information you already have. Include any drawings, the rooms you need and how much of the existing house you want refurbished at the same time. This helps define the building scope before detailed pricing.</p></section><section class="detail-section"><h2>Connecting new work to the existing house</h2><p>For a ground-floor extension, consider the access to the garden, the arrangement of existing rooms and the finishes you want carried through. For a loft conversion, include the proposed staircase and the effect on the floor below in your initial brief.</p><p>Access also matters. Photographs of the front of the property, any side passage and the proposed work area help introduce the site.
